Course Description: Asia’s diverse religions, philosophies, ethnicities, and cultures demand a serious Christian mission engagement with religious pluralism. This course prepares students to navigate pluralist environments in Asia through theological and intercultural competencies, emphasizing real-world implications for evangelism, church planting, community development, interfaith dialogue, and ecclesial identity. Utilizing mission theology, study of religions, postcolonial studies, and contextual theology, students will cultivate frameworks for contextually sensitive witnessing amidst religious diversity.
Lecturer: Rev. Dr. Albert Sundararaj Walters
Lecturer Biodata: Rev. Dr. Albert Sundararaj Walters is a Senior Lecturer at Seminari Theoloji Malaysia and an ordained Anglican minister. He has served in various parishes in West Malaysia and also in the Diocese of Iran and as a mission partner in Tanzania and Bangladesh. His research interests encompass Major World Religions and Interfaith Dialogue. Dr. Walters holds degrees from Bishop’s College, Kolkata, and the Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary in Seoul, and earned his PhD in Theology (Islamic Studies) from the University of Birmingham, UK.
