
Ps. Kelly Oon serves as a faculty member in Old Testament Studies at Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM) since 2024, where she is also the Assistant Dean of Studies (Planning and Operation). She holds a Master of Theology (MTh) from STM/ATESEA Theological Union (2024) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from the same institution (2019), where she received the Academic Excellence Award.
Her primary research interests lie in Hebrew Bible narrative studies, particularly exploring narrative artistry, honour and shame, and divine blessing in Old Testament narratives. Her MDiv dissertation is titled, “Honour and Shame: An Examination on Leah–Rachel Conflict Narratives in Relation to the Blessings of God.” and her MTh dissertation, “Ironic Interpretation of Jonah’s Narrative: An Attempt to Narrative Criticism.” In 2024, she was awarded the SBL Travel Award, which fully sponsored her participation in the Society of Biblical Literature Annual Meeting in San Diego, United State.
Beyond academia, Ps. Kelly serves in the Methodist Church in Malaysia. On weekends, she connects her passion for biblical studies with the local church through Bible seminars, theological forums, and teaching ministries, bridging scholarship with faith in community life.
