Course synopsis:
This course explores how relational and communal values in South and Southeast Asia reshape the theology and practice of conversion. Moving beyond individualistic models, it examines conversion as a process of belonging within family and community life. Through biblical, historical, and contemporary perspectives, students will consider how faith in Christ can take root without severing cultural and familial ties. Drawing on Asian theologians and missiologists, the course aims to develop a contextual theology of conversion that integrates authentic faith with the social fabric of Asian societies.
