Prayer Labyrinth At STM – User Guide

【Guides for Using the Prayer Labyrinth】

At the Entrance

  • Put your electronic devices to silent.
  • Pause and prayerfully quieten your mind before you begin. Dedicate this time to God, asking Him to protect and guide you during this journey.

Inward Journey

  • You do not need to rush. Take your time to walk through quietly and slowly. Allow at least 20 – 30 minutes to complete this walk.
  • You should walk with an open heart and an open mind to everything that God wants to show you.
  • You do not need to figure out how to get to the centre. Let the path guide you in prayer and concentrate on taking the next step with God.
  • If you get tired or distracted, take note of your location. Leave and sit for a bit, then resume later.
  • If you bump into others on the path, simply allow them to pass. If you wish, you may pass around others ahead of you should you find your pace requires it.

 At the Centre

  • At the centre, you can pray, meditate, or do silent writing. You may also receive God’s illumination.
  • You may sit, kneel, stand, and change positions or directions.
  • You can remain in this centre to rest, consider, receive, or listen until you feel satisfied.

Outward Journey

  • You can exit from the centre through the same path and give thanks for whatever insights or messages you received from God.
  • You should ask God for wisdom to integrate these insights into your daily living and move forward in His grace.

Journaling

  • Give thanks for God’s presence through the prayer journey. You may journal your experiences after you exit. What thoughts did you convey to God? What was His response? What feeling emerged along your prayer walk? What touched your heart when you were silent, prayed, and meditated?
  • You can write down words, phrases, or draw symbols and pictures for future references and prayers.
  • This will help you reflect deeper and pray further.
  • Do not compare the experience of your walk with others because each person’s walk is unique.
