笔者以一位华裔基督徒读者，平行阅读圣经经典（《传道书》）和中华文化经典（《论语》）。本书第一章介绍圣经智慧文学在古代西亚有蓬勃的互动，特别是智慧文学的政治联系。在这个基础上，笔者建议古代智慧文学的开放性，支持跨文本阅读的可行性。第二章主要集中在《传道书》，特别是解读其中有政治智慧的八段经文。第三章集中在《论语》，笔者解读几段有关于孔子政治思想的经文。基于一些诠释关联，第四章的目的在于展示两份文本之间的对话与互动。本书的结论提出，一个人的认知，可在圣经经文和文化经文的语境中被检视、批判和矫正。基于双方持有共同但也独特的政治见解，笔者立足于信仰与文化两个传统上，建议华裔基督徒如何受益于《传道书》与《论语》的政治智慧。
作者简介About the Author
吴慧芬博士是马来西亚神学院的旧约讲师兼任教务主任，考获东南亚神学研究旧约博士（2013）以及美国普林斯顿神学院神学硕士（2007）。她的研究范围是旧约圣经，其他著作包括《圣经诠释：研读旧约和新约》（芙蓉：马来西亚神学院，2017），以及《传道书析读：以敬以虔活在当下》（香港：基道，2019）。
Dr Elaine GOH Wei Fun is a lecturer in the Old Testament Studies and the Dean of Studies in Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM) since 2008. She obtains her Doctor of Theology from South East Asia Graduate School of Theology/ATESEA Theological Union in 2013, and Master of Theology from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2007. Her main area of research is in the Old Testament studies and her published works in Mandarin include Biblical Interpretation: How to Study the Old Testament and the New Testament (Seremban: STM, 2017) and Rediscovering the Bible: Book of Ecclesiastes (Hong Kong: Logos Publishers, 2019).
