STM Library maintains an invaluable collection on the history of Christianity in Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo. Housed in the Archives Room, the collection includes both primary resources (minutes, anniversary & souvenir magazines, historical newsletters, journals, photos, etc.) and key secondary resources.
The Archives Room also holds a microform collection and a microfiche reader. This collection includes resources related to mission work in Malaysia and consists of selected archives of the London Missionary Society, the International Missionary Council, the Conference of British Missionary Societies, the Christian Conference of Asia. There are also several titles written in Chinese by early Protestant missionaries to mainland China.

Prefixed with “ARC”, most of the collection is arranged numerically on shelf from 000-999 (Dewey Decimal System), and then alphabetically by suffix within the 000-999. Other items, such as documents and photos, are arranged by denomination/organization/seminaries in filing cabinets.
Terms for use:
- Access to the Archives Room is strictly restricted; kindly seek permission. You will be required to sign in/out in the Archives Log book at the Circulation Desk.
- Some of the items are very brittle and fragile –- please handle with utmost care.
- Only pencils are allowed into the Archives Room for taking notes; do not mark the materials in any way.
- Use of laptops permitted in accordance with normal Library regulations.
- Photocopying is restricted; kindly seek staff assistance. Use the slips provided to mark sections for photocopying.
- Do not remove documents from ring files. Do not change the order of materials in folders; keep them in the same order they are found.
Loan Period: No borrowing; for reference use in the Archives Room only. Archival material must not be removed from the Archives Room.
Please DO NOT reshelve archival resources; kindly place on the table or trolley provided in the Archives Room after use.
