The authority list option enables you to browse and search for titles by the author’s family name, by subject heading or by series title. These three fields are known as authority fields or authority headings in catalogue records.
- Click the Authority List option on the VLib main menu.
- On the Authority List screen, click on the pull down arrow to choose one of the authority choices: Subject, Author, or Series
- Click on one of the authority choices to select it.
- Input your search term in Start from box. If you leave this box empty, VLib will start the browsing your selected authority alphabetically from the beginning.
- Click Search or press the Enter key to start browsing. A list of authority headings results will appear.
- Click on any one of the authority headings to see a list of titles with that selected authority heading.
